NORFOLK SOUTHERN- N&W 1980s, Vol. 11 AUDIO: This audio CD album covers NS on the N&W side of the system, during the early years of the NS merger. Hear sounds of older standard cab locomotives from EMD & GE on freight trains in true Panning Stereo. All audio tracks were recorded in the beginning of 1987, around the Bellevue, OH area. We catch trains on the Pittsburgh Division on both the east and west side of town, freights leaving & entering the NS yard, & more. A unique thing about listening to audio tracks, compared to video, is that it adds to the listener’s imagination. All tracks were recorded in Panning Stereo, using directional mics placed opposite of each other, to give a real train passing by experience. Each audio cut has a written description of each train, 2 & 3/87.
