Keith’s Trains Series™ (from the camera of Keith Lehman, a RR Series from 1-West Productions™), Title #55 LOGANSPORT, IN IRON HORSE FEST, C&O 2716 STEAM & TP&W F7;  CONRAIL CLEANUP, WINCHESTER, IN, 1996:  See C&O 2716, the Fort Wayne Historical Society’s 2-8-4 Kanawa perform in a push-pull operation with TP&W’s lightning striped F7 1500, on trips to Burnettsville and return.

The remaining 11/2 hours covers a Conrail 4:30 am derailment of train BUIN- Buffalo-Indianapolis, of 134 cars. The 6th car from the rear broke a wheel, continued for over 2 miles before the 5 crossings in downtown Winchester, IN causing more derailments of cars, and leaving 2 on the tracks untouched. Electric and telephone poles and crossing gates were taken down by the derailed cars. A passing train had reported sparks from the rear of BUIN’s train. We cover from daylight until about 1:00 pm of the cleanup, putting cars back on the track, and the first trains through track 1. RJ Corman arrives around 9:30 am, with the heavy work equipment for the cleanup, after a local wrecker drags a car blocking track 1 off the track. 12/96
